Some of my bird artworks that were inspired by dreams and painted with various natural elements will be displayed at an exhibition in Madrid soon.
I have been scribbling and painting those bird images onto different types of smaller mediums for over a decade now but only started to paint them on bigger canvases a few years ago when I lived in the woods and was in a toxic relationship. Painting would lift me up and help me to stay connected with myself during those years.
The idea to paint them emerged from various dreams where I have seen birds. For me they associate with freedom, ease and wisdom.
The paintings can have one, all or none of those meanings, in the same way as dreams have multiple layers.
The two birds and the dot:

could symbolise different aspects of ourselves coming together and creating a new idea.

could symbolise two beings creating life with the essence of love.

could symbolise following one´s soul path, the dot symbolising the Soul’s vessel – the heart.

could symbolise an alchemical process of different parts of oneself coming together and evolving into a unique whole.

could symbolise the sun that‘s not often around in wintertime in northern hemisphere.
Or something else? What are your thoughts?
Those paintings have been co-created with natural materials like wood ashes, charcoal from midsummer fire, springwater, clay and natural pigments. Through each piece, I try to inspire others to reconnect with nature and themselves with empathy and awareness.
Art has been a part of my life since childhood. It has always helped me to be more connected with myself and get through difficult life situations. As a highly visual person, I began drawing and painting symbols from my dreams to better understand them—and to share them with others.
